On Dec 16, Shaanxi Admissions Office of Tsinghua University arrived at HSXJTU and awarded the honorary Medal of "2018 Tsinghua University High Quality Student Source Middle School" to HSXJTU. A lecture on "iTinghua School Walking into the HSXJTU" was successfully held.
At the grand ceremony, Principal Madame Wang Peidong delivered a warm welcome speech. On behalf of the HSXJTU community, she thanked Tsinghua University for its affirmation and support to HSXJTU for many years. She also thanked Tsinghua University for its excellent training and education to thousands of excellent students graduating from HSXJTU, which enabled them to go higher and farther on the road of life.
On behalf of Tsinghua University, Professor Ma Hao, Chairman of Shaanxi Admissions Office of Tsinghua University, awarded the honorary plaque of "2018 High-quality Student Source Middle School" to HSXJTU. In his speech, he highly appraised the outstanding self-learning ability and great potentials of HSXJTU students, and encouraged them to challenge themselves, redouble their efforts, striving to enter top universities, opening up their own bright future.
After the ceremony, Professor Wang Xuewu, chairman of the Department of Engineering Physics of Tsinghua University, gave an excellent lecture entitled "Combination of Science and Technology: dream of science". He gave the students an in-depth and simple account of the latest developments in the field of science and professional technology at home and abroad, and introduced the characteristics of development, discipline and cultural concepts of Tsinghua University, which provided students with a clearer and deeper understanding of scientific development.
Liu Yifeng, a Ph.D. student at Tsinghua University and a 2013 alumnus of HSXJTU, delivered a speech based on his own learning experience. Liu Yifeng won the first prize of "Sino-US Clean Energy Technology Competition 2012 Final" during high school. He donated the prize of $7,500 to the school as a science and technology innovation fund together with his peers. After entering Tsinghua University, he continued to adhere to the research of flexible solar materials and founded the "Eight-degree Sunshine" entrepreneurial team. He was interviewed by CCTV many times and was praised as a model of "post-90s founder". In 2016, he was awarded the second top undergraduate scholarship of Tsinghua University. He was selected into Forbes China's Top 30 Elite under 30 in 2017 and Forbes Asia's Top 30 Elite under 30 in 2018.
The two brilliant and vivid lectures aroused the students’ strong interest and enthusiasm for interaction. All of them were impressed and encouraged by Professor Tsinghua’s profound knowledge, fruitful achievements and scientific spirits. They were also proud of the valuable qualities and outstanding achievements of the excellent HSXJTU graduates.
