On June 1, 2016, the Final Round of English Vocabulary Face-off was successfully completed. This competition aims at stimulate student’s interest in learning English and improve their engagement as well as check the vocabulary learning of the grade 10 students. In the principle of “nurturing interest, enhancing confidence, providing show chances and setting up examples”, this event is highly applauded. The whole event lasted for three month engaging over 800 students. After several rounds of elimination, 25 candidates competed in the final round.

The competition was composed of different parts such as listening, word meaning, spelling, oral, cultural knowledge and etc.

Xi zhiqiao won the champion in the end and she shared her learning experience and believed that English learning is a long-time accumulative process, only by perseverance can one in the end reach the goal.
