under the leadership of our vice-principal Song Jinan, on July 1st, 62 students of the school wind band started their thirteen-day travel to Austria, taking part in the fourth “Supreme Honor” International Youth Musical Festival in the Golden Hall in Vienna, the capital of Austria. This is the second time for our school to take part in the festival since 2008.

More than 30 bands from 17 countries participated in this festival. The four pieces of music performed by our band, such as Sam’s Dikexi, Bugle Call were highly appreciated by the members of the review committee. Mr. Ronal Smart, honorary consultant of the committee, paid high tribute to the excellent performances of our students in such a short period. He also sincerely invited our school band, with the Chairman of the committee Mr. Richard Laub, to the next festival, placing high hopes on their display. During the festival, our students went to the local villages and volunteered to perform for the local people. They also had a close contact with the world-renowned musicians, through attending lectures in the Vienna Music College.

This activity broadened the students’ horizons, increased their professional knowledge and had an important impact on their growth and further development. Most of the students said that they will still study hard in future and make themselves talented with virtues, responsibilities, creative spirits, leadership, and international outlook.
