The 2009 Honoring Ceremony of the Shaanxi United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization was held on January 8th in our school. The following people attended the meeting: Mr. Li Ming- the Director of International Exchanges of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, and Executive Vice President of Shaanxi United Nations Educational Scientific and Culture Organization Committee, Mr. Ren Xinhua- Director of Overseas Education Service Center of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Mrs. Chai Yanrong-Director of Xi’an Municipal Committee Students Department of Chinese Communist Youth League, and Mrs. Li Yuying- the Secretary General of Shaanxi United Nations Educational Scientific and Culture Organization Committee etc.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Li Ming- the Director of International Exchanges of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, and Executive Vice President of Shaanxi United Nations Educational Scientific and Culture Organization Committee. At the very beginning, Mrs. Wang Peigdong, the Principal of the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University delivered a speech to welcome the presence of the leaders and distinguished guests. As the rotating presidency of the Shaanxi United Nations Educational Scientific and Culture Organization Committee in 2008, our school had taken a great initiative to organize the concerned activities, which had improved the international awareness of the students, and also given an impetus to cultivate the modern talents with the good merits, highly responsibility, creative ability, international horizon and moral integrity.

During the meeting, Mrs. Li Yuying, the Secretary General of Shaanxi United Nations Educational Scientific and Culture Organization Committee had announced the award lists for the photo album exhibition of I and Olympic Games and for annual special achievement. Our school along with other ten schools had won the Best Organization Awards in the photo album exhibition I and Olympic Game; ten teachers like Zhou Jie had received the Outstanding Contribution Awards; the Individual Performance Excellence Awards in 2008 went to our Principal, Mrs. Wang Peigdong, as well as other 20 teachers. Being accompanied by the joyful music, the leaders present issued the Honorary Plaques or Certificates to the individual winners or groups. Afterwards, on behalf of all teachers, Zhou Jie had delivered a winning speech, in which Zhou Jie had put forward next year’s work plan for 2009 on the basis of the achievement made in 2008. This year’s Honoring Ceremony had been smoothly carried out and had yielded out good results. Finally, Mr. Li Ming viewed that all members of the meeting should effectively work together and well handle the cultivation of students under the principle of United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization and on the basis of Premier Wen Jiabao’s address in the meeting of Educational Association of Science & Technology, that is, students should not only learn the knowledge, but should also make things by themselves, They should not only work out ideas, but should learn how to do the job, how to survive, and how to live with other people.
