Miss Catherine Johnson from Simon Fraser university of Canada visited our school on the afternoon of November 9th. She conversed with Principal Wang on setting up an educational practice base on HSXJTU for Simon students.
Simon Fraser University, commonly referred to as SFU, is a Canadian public research university set up in 1965 in British Columbia with its main campus on Burnaby Mountain in Burnaby, and satellite campuses in Vancouver and Surrey. The university was named after Simon Fraser, a North West Company fur trader and explorer. Undergraduate and graduate programs operate on a year-round tri-semester schedule. SFU was ranked 1st among Canada’s Comprehensive Universities in 2009 by Macleans Magazine, 57th in the world and 3rd in Canada in 2009 by Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
Miss Catherine Johnson is the liason of the pratice base in China for Simon Fraser. The main issue she came to discuss with Principal Wang is to incorporate HSXJTU in Simon Fraser’s practice base in China; thereafter students from Simon Fraser will spend 3 to 5 weeks of education practice in HSXJTU. Our school is expected to accept Canadian students in various number each year and engage them in classes and also tutor their teaching with the help of Miss Catherine.
Miss Johnson expressed her appreciation for the layout of our campus, “ It is such a pleasant thing for the students to study on the beautiful campus.” She hopes to set up a long-term partnership with HSXJTU by starting with the education practice base. Principal Wang also expressed her wishes for this wonderful partnership.
