On May 11th, Mr. Wu Yongjian arrived on campus and talked to HSXJTU students. Mr. Wu Yongjian is a seniored designer and painter, well-known for designing Haibao- Shanghai Expo mascot. Mr. He Shengli, deputy dean of Students’ Affiars, hosted the lecture.
On entering school, Mr. Wu received a warm welcome from HSXJTU students. In his lecture titled “My Creative Journey”, Mr. Wu made a brief review on his artistic career by including stories and paintings which were simple but conveyed great implications. Mr. Wu believed that designs must be presented in an art way and for artists, art is a way of expressing feelings and values. Designs can only become more attractive when incorporating culture and art into ideas. This also explains why many masterpieces sustain their value even after decades. In the end of his lecture, Mr. Wu encouraged students to work hard and said “I like, I can, I will and I deserve”
