April 24, 2011-The centennial anniversary of Tsinghua University was celebrated in the People’s Great Hall, Beijing. Chairman Hu Jingtao and other high officials from CPC and administration, such as Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang etc. were presented. Hu Jingtao,

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered the keynote speech. There were altogether over 8000 people invited on this event, including government officials, university presidents home and abroad, principals from renowned high schools and representative alumni and teachers and students.

10 AM, April 24, Principal Wang Peidong sat in Tsinghua Centennial celebration and listened to Chairman Hu Jingtao following which she joined the state banquet hosted by Tsinghua University in the Banquet Hall on the 2nd floor of the People’s Great Hall.

April 25, Principals of top high schools from China (including HK and Macao), Malaysia, and Korea etc. gathered on a forum on cooperative education between top high schools and universities for innovative elites. Issues discussed and explored covered a wide spectrum of education including system reform on talents cultivation, cultivation pattern of innovative talents, innovative talents selection mechanism, innovative pedagogy and evaluation system. Further dialogues were conducted between heads from high schools and universities in the hope that communications between both parties on education reform can better connect high schools with universities. HSXJTU as one of the invitees honorably joined the dialogues.

As one of Tsinghua’s student bases, HSXJTU has been adored for sending elite graduates to Tsinghua for years. Over 300 heads from top high schools were said to be invited to this event and Principal Wang is one of the eight invitees in Shaanxi Province.
