On September, 8th, a grand commendation rally was held in the first international conference hall of Qujiang Hotel to celebrate the 26th Teachers' Day, jointly organized by Provincial Party Committee and the Education Department of Shaanxi province. Principal Wang Peidong was honored with the title of pacesetter for professional ethics.

More than 1,000 people attended the rally, some of the provincial leaders from the Party Committee and the representatives from different media included. Those units and individuals that had gained outstanding achievements in the field of education were commended in the rally.

On September, 9th, a mass meeting was held solemnly in XJTU to celebrate the Teachers' Day and to welcome the new teachers. Principal Wang Peidong, as well as the individuals with conspicuous success from the affiliated units, was commended by the university, Secretary Wang Jianhua and President Zheng Nanning giving out the awards.
