Report 2: The Delegation from US and LAUREL in the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University

After the first spring rains, the earth was refreshed. In the morning of 23 March 2009, Principal Wang Pei-dong, with some representatives of students and teachers, welcomed the group from US and Laurel School at the school gate of Qujiang Campus. At 7:40am, the group attended the solemn Flag-hoisting ceremony with our students, which is held every Monday in our school. And also, they listened to the student’s speech under the National Flag. The delegation visited the campuses of XJTU, our school campus, teaching building, laboratory, students’ dormitory, and art building accompanied by Principal Wang and Deputy Song. In the art building, the group had a music lesson which was focused on the Chinese traditional music. The pleasant and lingering sound of GuZheng, the charm of Beijing Opera attracted everyone of the group deeply.

On 24 March 2009, the group had lessons of Chinese Kongfu, Shaanxi geography and made the facial make-up of Beijing Opera by themselves in the hand-made class. In the afternoon, the group visited Shaanxi History Museum. All these activities made them very close to the Chinese traditional cultures. They said the day would be most memorabl during their stay in Xi’an.
