In the afternoon on 03 March, Shaanxi Primary and Secondary Science and Technology Festival Starting Ceremony was held in the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University grandly. 100-odd leaders, perofessionals, principals of primary and secondary schools who were coming from the basic education units and more than a thousand students of our school took part in the starting ceremony, which symbolized the new start for Shaanxi Provincial science and technology innovation education.

Shaanxi Primary and Secondary Science and Technology Festival was co-organized by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, aiming to cultivate the interests of primary and secondary school students for science and technology innovation and strengthen creative capability. This festival was based on ‘science and technology in the campus, innovation in the future’. Zhang Liang, Assistant Inspector of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education started the ceremony. The following peoples participated in the starting ceremony, Lv Mingkai, vice director of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Liu Yaguang, vice chairman of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, Wang Yuesheng, vice director of Moral Education Branch of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Huang Xinnan, vice director of Xi’an Educational Bureau, leaders from local educational bureaus and partical schools. Vice Principal Cheng Guangxu of Xi’an Jiaotong University was invited to attend the ceremony too.

Huang Xinnan, vice director of Xi’an Educational Bureau gave a warm speech in the ceremony; Liu Yaguang, vice chairman of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology read the ; Wang Peidong, Pricipal of The High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University and student Pan Ge gave speeches respectively on behalf of Shaanxi provincial primary and secondary schools, indicating to emphasize to cultivate youth’s innovative spirit, thought and creativity during the quality education with the important role that the school played in the science and technology innovation and develop a variety of science and technology innovation activities; lastly, Lv Mingkai, vice director of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education called on primary and secondary school students around Shaanxi provinal schools to actively take part in the activities ’learn science, love science, say science and use science’ to make science and technology innovation a popular trend.

Later, more than 100 experts, leaders and principals visited the science and technology innovation activities of the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University guided by our students. Our students demonstrated the subject research activities, activities to popularize scientific knowledge, research study results, rocket space research and robots performances, which attracted our guests greatly. They spoke highly of our students’ practice capability and innovative thought.
