On the afternoon of December 8, Shaanxi recruitment group of Tsinghua University arrived at the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University and awarded the school honorary medal of "Middle School with High-quality Source of Students of Tsinghua University in 2019".

In the awarding ceremony, Professor Ma Hao, Head of Shaanxi recruitment group of Tsinghua University, awarded the honorary medal to the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University as the representative of Tsinghua University. Principal Zi Yanyang, on behalf of the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University, expressed the great gratitude to Tsinghua University for its long-term support and approval and also urged the students to study hard and make earnests efforts and steady progress to the first-class universities like Tsinghua at home and abroad.

After the ceremony, Professor Ma Hao also made a special lecture titled "Shoulder the mission and pursue excellence" on the aspects of Tsinghua's school running process, cultural feelings, academic achievements, future experience in Tsinghua, and how to enter Tsinghua, to encourage students to pursue excellence and strive to realize their "Tsinghua dream". In the interactive session afterwards, Professor Ma gave patient and detailed answers to the students' general concerns about Tsinghua winter camp, characteristics of some majors, main learning contents and future development directions.

In recent years, the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University has maintained excellent educational and teaching achievements, and has sent a large number of excellent students to Tsinghua University and other top universities at home and abroad, among whom Han Jiahao and Liu Yifeng respectively won the first and second place of Tsinghua University undergraduate special scholarship in 2015 and 2016. Liu Yifeng was also listed as one of the 30 elites under the age of 30 of “Forbes China, Forbes Asia" in 2017 and 2018.

After graduating from Tsinghua University, lots of our students went to other world-famous universities for further study such as Harvard University, MIT, etc.

The excellent performance of our students also earned great honor for their alma mater. In 2011 and 2012, the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University was awarded the title of "New Century Leading Plan" High-quality Student Base of Tsinghua University; in 2013, "Tsinghua Growth Award for Middle School Graduates" was awarded to HSXJTU, which was the only one in Shaanxi Province and even Northwest China. In 2014, the High School Affiliated to Jiaotong University became the first base school of Academy of fine arts of Tsinghua University in the northwest China, and won the title of Middle School with High-quality Source of Students of Tsinghua University for four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019.
