From March 22 to 25, over 300 teams from 27 Provinces and Hong Kong of China gathered together in Yang Ling, Shaanxi province, participating in the 2012 RoboCup Selective Trial in China, hosted by the International Exchange Association of China, Ministry of Education and China Committee of RCJ. Our school team achieved great success in the trials.

RoboCup, one of the most influential international robot contests, promotes the research on the artificial intelligence and intelligent robot through a standard question. This field integrates and tests the technologies in a large scope, and it also includes the integral education project. The contest mainly includes RoboCup Soccer, RoboCup Rescue and RoboCup Junior etc. In the 2012 RoboCup Selective Trial in Yang Ling, China, Sun Zelin, Lu Yibo, Wang Tianhao, Xian Tianhao, Ma Muye and other students from HSXJTU, under the instruction of their instructors, won the second prize of “COSPACE Dancing Robot”, the Best Design, the first prize of “Square up Basketball Robot” and the second prize of “COSPACE Rescue Robot”, after three days extraordinarily fierce competitions of first contest, the second round and the finals. Their excellent performance of our team members also qualifies them to take part in the 2012 World Cup of RoboCup Finals in Mexico this July.

After the contest, our young wizards said, they learned the importance of team work and active discussion through the competition, and this experience also enhanced their abilities of cooperation, practice and innovation. This success has definitely motivated them to have even more ambitious plan in the following contests and their future innovation, with a hope to bring our school more honors.
